GISD names Health Services Director

Kelsey Pflug has been named Greenville ISD's Health Services Director. Kelsey Pflug

She brings a wealth of clinical and leadership experience to the job, having worked as Quality Coordinator overseeing all aspects of clinical care delivery and compliance at Village Health Partners since 2016. In addition, Pflug worked as a triage nurse in a primary care office and as a medical, surgical and orthopedic nurse at HCA Healthcare and Parkland. 

"I'm really excited to serve the students and families of GISD and to help promote and advocate for our students' health so that they can be successful in the classroom," she said. 

Superintendent Sharon Boothe said Pflug's experience in both the clinical and administrative roles make her an ideal fit for this important role. 

"Kelsey Pflug is a gifted medical professional who has a heart for providing the very best health services for our students," Boothe said. "GISD enjoys strong partnerships with Carevide, Hunt Regional Healthcare and a number of medical practitioners in the community. I know that she will continue to build on those partnerships, which will benefit our students, families and community as a whole." 

Pflug grew up in Princeton. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Texas-Arlington and is licensed as an RN. She is pursuing a master's degree in nursing informatics, quality and safety from the University of Texas-Tyler. 

She and her husband Michael live in Fate, and they have two boys. 

"I come from a family full of educators," Pflug said. "My husband Michael works as the CTE Grants Consultant at Region 10, and my mom, my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law, my brother all work in education."
