November 29, 2022

VEX

GHS Teams 4148E and 4148X made great runs on Nov. 19 at a tournament held at Wolfe City High School, and both made it to the elimination rounds. The teams ended up squaring off against each other in the semifinals with 4148E winning and earning the tournament championship.

Along with the tournament title, team 4148E were the skills champions with a score of 231, ranking them third overall in the state. They also won the design award for best engineering notebook. This win qualifies them to move on to the regional tournament as well as the UIL state championship in February.

GHS VEX instructor and coach Corey Bankston says he is so proud of these amazing young people.

“Their hard work and dedication paid off and they continue to live up to the motto of 'have fun, make friends and chase excellence,' ” he said.
