Look at Them Now - Duane Gaulden

You may know Greenville High School 1987 grad Duane Gaulden from his time on the radio or from his business, Gaulden Insurance Agency. You might know him from one of the numerous civic organizations he is a member of. Either way, Mr. Gaulden stays active in the Greenville community.

Mr. Gaulden jokes that if it weren’t for Linda Taylor and Marsha Fincher, his theatre arts and acapella choir teachers, he might still be in high school. He said that they knew how to motivate him to do his best. Ken Gibson, Don Cartwright and Mr. Tillery were other influential figures during his time as a student in GISD.

During his sophomore year at GHS, Gaulden began working at KEMM 92.1 FM in Commerce. He continued at the radio station when he began his studies at East Texas State University (now Texas A&M – Commerce) until a new disc jockey job in Dallas came calling. Later he became an insurance agent who now owns his own business. When his son, Bradley, graduated from GISD in 2010, Gaulden felt compelled to earn his degree. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.

Gaulden is a two-time past President of the Lions Club of Greenville, President-Elect of the Greenville Rotary Club, current board member for CASA for Hunt County, past President and board member for Greenville Educational Enrichment Foundation, past President of the Greenville High School Athletic Booster Club, past Kiwanis Club board member, former United Way of Hunt County board member and former Greenville City Council member for Place 5.
