John Shasteen, a 2014 graduate of Greenville High School, believes his time in Greenville ISD and the GHS Lion Pride Band prepared him for a bright future.
Shasteen is currently a Juris Doctor candidate with the University of North Texas at Dallas College of Law. Before his current studies, he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
He is extremely grateful to his GHS band directors, Kyle Treadwell and Richard Burt, for teaching him not only in the classroom, but for helping him grow as a leader outside the classroom.
“(I) learned the value of hard work, attention to detail and strong leadership,” Shasteen said about his time in the Lion Pride Band.
His experience in GISD gave him foundation for pursuing his academic aspirations.
