Greenville ISD announces Interim Chief Financial Officer

Jim Shiele

Jim Schiele was named Greenville ISD's Interim Chief Financial Officer, a role he begins this week.

Schiele comes to GISD with a highly successful track record in public school finance. His most recent post was at Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, where he worked for 13 years before retiring in 2020. He also served as Assistant Superintendent of Finance in Duncanville ISD and Carroll ISD.

"I come from a family of educators, starting with my wife, my mother and my sisters, who all dedicated their careers to teaching and other campus-based responsibilities," Schiele said. "As a result, I view every decision from the vantage point of the impact on the classroom and the students. That is where our focus is and always will be."

"Mr. Schiele brings a skill set and experience that will provide a natural transition as we enter into budget season," GISD Superintendent Sharon Boothe said . "His interactions with his finance team and GISD Leadership have been cohesive and collaborative.  We all look forward to having Jim on our team."

Schiele's areas of expertise include:

  • Long range budget forecasting
  • Cash flow analysis
  • Budget development
  • Purchasing
  • Expenditure analysis
  • Systems analysis

Schiele has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Boise State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
