Successful travels for GHS Ag Mechanics students

showing ribbons Gracin with smoker Bentley and Daniel Will Waters red and blue ribbons

This past year Greenville High School Ag Mechanics students have traveled over 700 miles to four major shows to compete all across the state of Texas. They won money and prizes but most importantly made lots of memories.

Students received five red ribbons and 11 blue ribbons throughout the course of the year.

Here are some of the awards and honors they received:

  • Daniel Pitts - Placed sixth in the Texas Made scholarship competition receiving $8000.

  • Bentley Love, Omar Sanchez and Cody Waldrop - Placed third in class at Rodeo Austin with their patio set.

  • Daniel Pitts and Bentley Love - Placed second in class and fifth overall in the marketplace competition and sold their foot pedal vice for $4,250.

  • Gracin Hoffman - received the Chairman's Award, presented to students with compelling stories behind their projects, at both the San Antonio and Austin Rodeo shows where he received a welder, an oxy-acetylene torch kit and other small tools.

Want to support these incredible students? This Saturday, March 25, Greenville FFA will be hosting its annual auction at Innovation First International (6725 West FM 1570, Greenville, TX 75402). Viewing of projects and a barbeque dinner will begin at 5:00 p.m. and the auction will begin at 6:00 p.m. There will be big and small items available such as tables, grills, outdoor furniture, cutting boards and so much more.
