GISD Early College High School senior, Jely Lin, received some exciting news this week. She was accepted into New York University’s engineering program, her top choice.  She plans to major in Biomedical Engineering. 

Jely is excited that all her hard work is paying off.  

“I believe ECHS helped me get closer to my dreams.” Jely said. “I know having my associate degree in Engineering from ECHS helped me get into the NYU Engineering program.” 

ECHS Chancellor, Dr. Rebekah Russler, is so proud and excited for Jely.  

“Very few students get into their top-choice school, especially when it is an elite university like NYU,” Dr. Russler said. “This is an incredible opportunity and a testament of her diligence in the ECHS program.” 

“This also speaks volumes to the benefit of participating in ECHS,” Dr. Russler added. “This program helps open up doors of our students and their futures. Jely and our other graduates are ahead of the game when chasing their dreams because of this program.” 

Jely was also accepted to the Biology program at the University of Texas.
