Joanna Bahena

Jo’Anna Bahena has been named Carver Elementary Principal 

Jo’Anna Bahena is joining the Greenville ISD family as the new Principal of Carver Elementary. With an impressive background in education, she brings a wealth of experience and a strong passion for student success. Previously, she served as an elementary principal in Dallas ISD for four years, where she made a positive impact on the school community. 

Throughout her career, Ms. Bahena has held various roles, including assistant principal, math instructional coach, and bilingual teacher. Her teaching experience spans across different grade levels, having taught kindergarten reading, second-grade self-contained, and third and fourth-grade math and science. This diverse range of experiences has provided her with a deep understanding of various educational contexts and the ability to support students at different stages of their academic journey. 

Ms. Bahena is a proud two-time graduate of Texas A&M Commerce, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in English and Spanish, as well as a master’s degree in educational administration.  

Greenville ISD and Carver Elementary are fortunate to welcome Ms. Bahena, an experienced and passionate educational leader, who will undoubtedly make a positive impact on the lives of GISD students, teachers and families.

Tiffany Britton has been named Travis Intermediate Associate Principal 

Tiffany Britton is an experienced and dedicated education professional with a passion for fostering student success and promoting educational equity. She started her career as a lead third-grade classroom teacher in the Dallas Independent School District (DISD). Recognized for her exceptional teaching skills and leadership qualities, she quickly transitioned into a campus administrator role in 2020. 

During her tenure as an ACE (Accelerating Campus Excellence) campus instructional coach, Mrs. Britton demonstrated her ability to customize transformative learning opportunities for students. She prioritized championing equity and excellence, ensuring that all students had access to high-quality education and the support they needed to succeed academically. 

Mrs. Britton's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas. With 10 years of experience in education, she has worked closely with students, teachers and campus communities in various capacities. 

Currently, Mrs. Britton serves as an Assistant Principal on a PreK-5th grade campus. In this role, she has led and piloted the implementation of programs both within her campus and throughout the region. Her dedication to innovation and educational excellence has made a positive impact on the learning environment for students. 

Outside of her professional achievements, Mrs. Britton is happily married to Jamar, an Aeronautical Engineer for L3Harris and a retired Army Sergeant. They have a wonderfully blended family that includes two boys and two girls: Yemaya (7), Jamar II (13), Zariah (14) and Xavion (19).
