Several GHS band students recently earned honors at Region Band competitions.  Earning band spots in the 9th Grade Honor Band were freshmen Noble Walker, alto sax and Hayden Willeford, trombone.  At the All Region High School Band tryouts in Paris Texas, junior John Shasteen placed 7th chair clarinet in the Symphonic band, sophomore Heath Redmon made 1st chair bassoon in the same band, and sophomore Phillip Malone was selected 5th trombone for that band. Senior Drum Major David Aly was selected 1st alto sax at the All Region Jazz Band tryouts at Mt. Pleasant Texas.  Students selected for All Region Bands participate in a day-long clinic and a concert under the direction of special guest conductors.  Congratulations to these students for their placement.
