Does GISD have guidelines for conduct on social media?

Social media provides us all with a powerful community engagement tool.

We value every conversation we have – with our students, with our parents, with our peers and with our community members. We want to know what’s on your mind, engage in a respectful and meaningful dialogue and share the facts.

We are committed to making our social media pages such as Facebook, a place where people can engage in conversation with one another. As moderators, it is our responsibility to remind users of our social media channels that they are places for constructive conversation, free from abusive language, bullying and the spreading of false information. We ask that visitors comply with these norms and refrain from posting about personal grievances or unrelated topics.

In the interest of encouraging constructive conversation, we will monitor, clarify and correct posted comments to the best of our abilities. If you see something that concerns you on our page, please bring it to our attention by emailing communications@greenvilleisd.com. We'll respond to specific, individual questions privately and to questions of broader interest publicly.
