Look at Them Now: John Michael Milton

Greenville High School 1995 grad John Michael Milton said he “was blessed with so many caring teachers” when he was a student in Greenville ISD. Education has been a large part of his life ever since. Today, he is the Deputy Superintendent in Quinlan ISD.

The teachers he said influenced his success include Cheryl Brown, Vanessa Pope, and Linda Wensel.

“They cared for me on an academic and personal level,” John Michael said, and are “three specific examples of teachers at GHS that pushed me to be the very best in everything I did.”

After graduating from GHS, he attended Texas A&M-Commerce where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees and his teaching and superintendent’s certifications. He returned to Greenville and began his teaching career at Crockett Elementary.

John Michael married his high school sweetheart, Edie, who is a teacher. Their son Elden Kyle is in college and plans to continue in his parents footsteps and become a teacher.

Congratulations, John Michael, on being the latest honoree in GISD's Look at Them Now series!
