Dear Greenville ISD Families, Staff, and Community,

Ahead of the state’s release of scores later this week, I want to be open with you and share, as your Superintendent, the Greenville ISD 2025–2026 STAAR results.

Greenville ISD is celebrating continued academic progress after earning an overall C rating with a score of 72 in the 2025-2026 state accountability ratings, moving the district up a letter grade from the previous year.

The results reflect significant improvement across the district. Several campuses demonstrated strong academic growth, including Crockett Elementary, Greenville High School, New Horizons High School and Greenville Middle School.

Crockett Elementary earned an 81 (B), while Greenville High School earned the district’s highest score with an 85 (B). Both campuses also received a Distinction Designation for Academic Growth, placing them among the top 25 percent of their comparative campus groups for academic growth across the State of Texas.

These achievements mark a significant milestone for Greenville ISD. The last time a district campus earned a distinction designation was in 2019, and the last time multiple campuses earned distinctions in the same year was 2018, underscoring the district’s continued progress in student achievement and growth.

Greenville Middle School and New Horizons High School also showed encouraging growth, contributing to the districtwide progress reflected in this year’s results.

“This progress is a reflection of the work happening every day in classrooms across Greenville ISD,” Superintendent Dr. Joe Lopez said. “Our teachers and campus leaders have been intentional about identifying where students need support, strengthening instruction and holding high expectations for every student. We are proud of the progress, but we also know there is more work ahead. We will continue building on this momentum throughout this school year and remain focused on moving every campus, and our district as a whole, forward.”

While district leaders are encouraged by the overall improvement, they also recognize the results show areas where additional growth is needed. Greenville ISD will continue providing focused instructional support and using student performance data to identify areas for improvement. 

“Our goal is not simply a letter grade, it is continuous improvement for every student and every campus,” Lopez said. “These results give us reasons to celebrate, but they also give us a clear picture of where we need to focus next. Our staff is committed to that work, and I am confident we will continue to see Greenville ISD move in the right direction.”
