📢 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐖 – 𝐃𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐘 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄
At the August 11 Board meeting, Greenville ISD officially adopted the Device Policy and Procedures for the 2025–2026 school year, in compliance with Texas House Bill 1481.
Beginning this year, students may not use cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, or other personal electronic devices during the school day. This is a statewide requirement for all Texas public schools—not just a local decision.
🔒 𝗞𝗘𝗬 𝗣𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗦:
• No student personal device use during class, passing periods, lunch, or in hallways.
• Devices covered include, but are not limited to: cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, personal laptops, gaming devices, earbuds, and smart glasses.
• Exceptions apply for IEP/504 accommodations, documented medical needs, emergency safety situations, and before/after-school activities.
