• I am so excited to be teaching at Lamar for my third year! My first year, I taought 3rd grade Science and Social Studies before transitioning, last year, to 5th grade math. Although this is my third year at Lamar, it isn’t my third year of teaching. I have taught kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades in both public and private schools as well as ninve years as bank training officer at a local bank. I have been married to my amazing husband, Kevin, for 21 years. We have two beautiful daughters, Bethany (11), at the 6th Grade Center and Desiree (10) in the 4th grade at Lamar.
  • I grew up in Annapolis, MD and graduated from the University of Maryland in 2011 where I worked as an aide in Special Education. In 2015 I moved to Greenville TX to live closer to family and worked for the ACE program at Bowie Elementary. Outside of school I like to run, exercise, eat Mexican food and hang out with friends and family. Learning and teaching about science and how our world works has always been a daily quest for me and I'm excited to be a part of the family at Lamar!
  • I have been teaching 5th grade for 3 years now. I love this job. I am married and have two beautiful sons. Brandon is my husband and Bentlee is 7 and is here at good old Lamar. Boone is 2 and a half in preschool. I am looking forward to playing an important role in your child’s life.
  • Jen Kelley is a 5th grade reading, language arts and social studies teacher. With 22 years experience in elementary education; all of which have been at Lamar Elementary, she has also taught MTA, 3rd and 2nd grades. When not in school, Mrs. Kelley enjoys reading, traveling, swimming, attending dirt track races, spending time with grandchildren as well as her newest hobbies of running and hiking. Mrs. Kelley and her husband, Russell make their home in Rockwall, Texas. They have three grown children and six grandchildren. They also have two 4-legged babies named Charlye and Libbey. Mrs. Kelley’s educational belief is that she act only as the guide; allowing student curiosity to direct their learning while providing them opportunities to practice and hone skills within authentic settings.
  • This is the beginning of my 12th year of teaching. I taught 2nd grade for two years and then was moved up to 5th grade to teach math and science. Earth science is my favorite subject to teach because I love being outside with nature, going on hikes and traveling with my husband to see and learn more about our beautiful world. Education is definitely a passion for me as both my parents were teachers and most of my friends are as well. When I'm not at school, you can find me walking the trails around my home, reading books, cooking, sewing, listening to music and being with my family and friends!
