Greenville Independent School District

Don Jefferies Donald R. Jefferies has served as Superintendent of the Greenville Independent School District since 2008. Jefferies, Principal at Greenville High School for two years, was previously an Associate Superintendent in Scottsdale, Arizona schools and Superintendent of West Orange Cove ISD, two districts that earned high state ratings. 

From 2001 to 2004, Jefferies was an Associate Superintendent in the Scottsdale Unified School District, where 18 of the district’s 32 schools achieved the state’s highest rating. 

From 1997 to 2001, Jefferies was Superintendent of West Orange Cove ISD, a district he left with several Recognized schools and significanly higher performance ratings by the Texas Education Agency. 

From 1993 to 1997, he was Assistant Superintendent of Mineral Wells ISD, which he also helped lead to a Recognized District by TEA.  

From 1985 to 1993, Jefferies was Principal at Class 5A Alvin.  During that time, AHS had the highest Exit Level TAAS scores in Brazoria County and Jefferies was recognized by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals as the Region IV Outstanding High School Principal (1989-90). 

Jefferies was also recognized by TEA in 1978 as an Outstanding Social Studies Teacher. Jefferies has been married to his wife, Linda, for 38 years. They have four adult children.
