    Special Considerations for Infection Control During COVID-19

     

    FAQs: 

    • How many SafeSchools courses do I need to complete for the 2021-2022 school year? There are 6 required courses this year: 
      • Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Prevention
      • CIPA: Compliance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act
      • Child Abuse: Mandatory Reporting
      • FERPA: Confidentiality of Records
      • Sexual Harassment: Policy and Prevention
      • Sexual Harassment: Student Issues and Reporting
    • Do I need to submit my SafeSchools courses in Strive? 
      • Yes, this step is required if you want to use your SafeSchools courses toward your Exchange Days.
      • To receive CPE credits and have a record of the courses in your Strive portfolio, you will need to enter these training in Strive as Outside Credit Requests as well. They do not automatically attach to your Strive portfolios.
      • Directions to enter an outside credit request can be found HERE
      • All 6 certificates need to be saved as one Word document or PDF and uploaded as a single request. 
      • If you do not want exchange day credit, CPE credit, or record in your Strive portfolio, you do not have to do anything beyond completing the training.
    • How many hours of exchange day credit do SafeSchools courses equal?
      • The 6 required SafeSchools for 2021-2022 add up to 3 hours of exchange time/CPE credit. 
    •  How will you know I completed my SafeSchools training? 
      • The Continuing Education Department can access the SafeSchools reports and view all completions. 
    • If I choose to complete the Special Considerations for Infection Control During COVID-19 training, do I need to submit my certificate in Strive to receive credit? 
      • Yes, this training must be entered into Strive in order to receive credit. Submit your training as an Outside Credit Request, including your certificate. This training is housed by an outside party, so if you do not submit a request for credit and provide proof of course completion, we have no way to access this information.
