We are EXTREMELY proud of the GHS Symphonic and Wind Ensemble Bands!
Ms. Beck and our GHS Symphonic Band went to the Region 3 UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest at Canton High School on March 5. Ms. Beck’s band earned straight division 1 (superior) ratings on stage, AND straight division 1 (superior) ratings in sight reading as well!
What a GREAT day for the Symphonic Band!
AND it was an AWESOME day for the ‘Lion Pride’ Wind Ensemble!
The band performed beautifully on stage and earned straight division 1 (superior) ratings. In the sight reading room, the students read the piece with amazing accuracy and the judges awarded them straight division 1 (superior) ratings.
With our Marching Band having received 1’s, and BOTH Concert Bands earning 1’s we bring home the coveted UIL ‘SWEEPSTAKES’ trophy! Only the 2nd time in 39 years they have achieved that prestigious honor!!!
So proud of our bands!!!
