Congratulations to Jenna Sickels, our April Hero of Hope!

Mrs. Sickels, the Girls Athletic Coordinator and Head Volleyball Coach, is known for inspiring students to grow as young women and competitive athletes.

“I think she’s a great Hero of Hope because she always pushes you to be the best you can be as an athlete and as a person,” GHS senior Jade Jacobs said.  She helps you grow in every way possible.”

It’s fun and it’s entertaining and it’s always uplifting every day,” Sickels said. “They’re all great kids. I think the best part of watching them grow and watching them achieve things they didn’t think they could.”

Sickels will be honored at the next school board meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16. She will also receive $100, thanks to Lone Star Credit Union, the official underwriter of Greenville ISD's Hero of Hope program. She received two beautiful bouquet of flowers, one donated by Adkisson's Florist and the other from her proud husband Gary.

Every month (September– May), one districtwide Hero of Hope is selected and honored at the School Board meeting. Whether you are a student, parent, employee or community member, please take the time to nominate your Hero of Hope by filling out a form located in every Greenville ISD campus and building. "One of the greatest opportunities we have as educators is to change the life of a child," Superintendent Dr. Demetrus Liggins said. "Since that is the most important focus of our work, this is one of the highest honors we can give to an employee."
