Courtney Baker has been named Greenville ISD’s Director of Special Education. Courtney Baker has been named Greenville ISD’s Director of Special Education.

Mrs. Baker has 23 years of experience in education, all with secondary students. She has been with GISD since 2016 and served as Assistant Principal at Greenville High School before moving to Greenville Middle School as Principal.

Mrs. Baker is excited for this opportunity and looks forward to continuing to grow and develop GISD students.

Prior to GISD, Mrs. Baker worked in Garland ISD as a Special Education Team Leader, a Secondary Academic Support Programs Coordinator and coach. She also spent six years working in education in Louisiana.

Mrs. Baker has a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in criminal justice from Mississippi State University, a master’s degree in educational leadership from Southeastern Louisiana University and her alternative certification in special education from the University of New Orleans.

She is married and has a daughter, a son and a bonus-son. In her free time, Mrs. Baker enjoys sports and traveling.
