The crowd was cheering, and the cameras were snapping in the GHS gym earlier today as four GHS athletes signed their letters of intent to fulfill their dream of playing at the next level.

A big GISD congratulations goes out to the following athletes and their families:

• Andrew Ibarra – Football – McMurray University
• Jamoriyon Stephenson – Football – Crown College
• Micah Simpson – Football – West Texas A&M University
• Sydney Walker – Volleyball – Tyler Junior College

Darren Duke, GISD Athletic Director, praised the athletes for their hard work both on and off the field. "You did not get here today just for athletic ability alone but for your performance in the classroom and outstanding behavior" Duke said. "We applaud you today for your perseverance!"
