The GHS VEX Robotics teams had an amazing and very successful UIL competition this past weekend.
On Friday, our teams competed in the skills challenge rounds where teams have a minute in both driver control and autonomous robot control to score as many points as possible.
Team 4148A finished with a total score of 333 combined to earn them the second place honor. Team 4148E had an amazing autonomous run of 175 to end with a combined score of 340 earning first place.
The tournament has even better results. After the qualification rounds, 4148A secured first place, and 4148E was second. The two teams paired up for the elimination rounds, and after some close moments, pulled the final victory to become the 5A UIL state champs.
GHS VEX Robotics Coach Corey Bankston shared how proud he is of these incredible kids.
“They continue to amaze me every day and always represent Greenville ISD with true gracious professionalism.” Bankston said.
