The artwork of Brilee Baker, a fifth-grade student at Bowie Elementary, has been chosen for the cover of the GISD employee birthday card for the 2023 – 2024 school year. Brilee enjoys her art class most at her school with Ms. Heather Clarke.

Brilee was inspired to paint a safari animal collection after a family outing to an area safari park. She enjoyed watching the animals, but the towering giraffes were her favorite, especially after feeding them. Remembering “how their tongues felt weird”, Brilee said, it is what led her to create this specific piece, “George the Giraffe”.

Every Greenville ISD employee receives a birthday card, which is personally delivered by Superintendent Sharon Boothe. Our employees tell us it's one of the things that makes them feel most appreciated!
