Students at Bowie Elementary School are enjoying the addition of a 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵 this school year. A sensory path is a fun way for children to explore new or different sensory experiences while re-focusing their energy by 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴, and 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘁𝗰𝗵.
The use of the sensory path is brief, but adequate breaks for students throughout the day help meet their academic goals. "A quick five minutes on the path lets kids get the wiggles out," said Ms. Kendall Robertson Lunny, GEEF grant requestor and Bowie teacher.
