Although the Greenville community may be considered small compared to nearby cities, we definitely take care of our own in times of need. When GHS parent Amy Millison heard that a fellow GISD parent was in need of steel toe boots to start a new job, she took the opportunity to give back.

“I am always willing to help someone who is willing to help themselves,” she said.

With a smile on her face, Amy purchased the new size 10 men’s steel toe boots and delivered them to GISD’s Parent Involvement Facilitator Whitney Threatt, who made sure to get them to the father in need. Due to the generosity of one GISD parent to another, the recently single father of two was able to report to his first day of work with the steel toe boots required for safety reasons. He says this new job will help him provide for his daughters as they focus on their education.

If you would like to make a difference in the lives of Greenville ISD students and their families by donating to the PRIDE fund, please contact Whitney Threatt at threattw@greenvilleisd.com or (903) 494-8922.
