Look at Them Now - Bradley Butcher

Bradley Butcher, a 2018 graduate of Greenville High School, always had two primary goals for his life; to serve his country and to help people. His love of country and desire to provide aid and comfort to others led him on a path that now allows him to accomplish both of these goals. He spent the past four years at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi where he studied nursing while also being a member of the Army ROTC program. In May 2022, he graduated from TAMUCC with a degree in Nursing. Then, in August, he was commissioned into the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant (2LT) in the nurse corps.

Second Lieutenant Butcher says of his time at GHS, “GISD provided me with the perfect launch point for all of my endeavors. Teachers and mentors like Justin Anderton, Kim Strube, Michael Flater, Larry Wilcock and too many more to list, provided me with all the lessons and skills needed for success. It could not have happened without them.”

In March of 2023, 2LT Butcher is scheduled to deploy to Landstuhl, Germany as an Army nurse. Ultimately, he plans to leverage the experience he gains while a member of the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and transition into a career as a civilian flight nurse.
