Look at Them Now - Desi Hite Jr.

Desi Hite Jr., a 2003 graduate from Greenville High School, is thrilled to be a Greenville ISD police officer. He strives to keep our students’ learning environment safe so they can focus on their education and pursue their dreams.

Officer Hite said he had many outstanding role models growing up who inspired him to excel.

"Coach Rusty Harden, Heath Jarvis, Joel Stanford, Jeff Wheat, David Gish, Coach Cellars, Craig Bowers, and so many more inspired me to be all that I can be and perform to the level of excellence in sports," he said. "My family, including my father Dezi Hite Sr. and Mother Lisa Hite, inspired me to make the correct choices in life and to be a better person."

After graduating from GHS, Officer Hite received an associate degree from Paris Junior College. He returned to GISD as a physical education aide at the Sixth Grade Center, where he enjoyed teaching students about the benefits of living an active life.

From there, he received his Peace Officer Credentials from Paris Junior College and the Hunt County Sherriff’s Office. He became a patrol sergeant for the Lone Oak Police Department, where he worked under Chief Joe Sterner, who he described as a "role model, teacher of excellence, and a great, great friend." After four years in Lone Oak, Officer Hite returned to Greenville as an officer for GISD.

“I accepted the gift of returning to continue making an impact on our students by inspiring them the way the others I've named inspired me,” Officer Hite said.

Thank you, Officer Hite, for all you do for our students and the GISD community.
